FEEDBACK & E-MAILS from FANS

Here are some e-mails I have been sent regarding this site and other TVOntario shows. These people share many of the same fond memories I have. Some recall shows I didn't watch. Some need help trying to remember show titles. Others offer more links. Have a read and feel free to send me an e-mail

Jan 24/11 from Debi:

Like your site. I have been trying to think of the name of a TV show I used to watch and it has really been bothering me that I can't think of it. Here's what I know.

We watched it in the classroom at school in either 5th or 6th grade. It was the early 80s most likely. The show seemed mysterious and almost creepy. There were these two kids that would go in this room and there was this computer kind of thing in the room that would type out stuff. If I remember right, they had to solve something strange. That's all I know. I'm guessing it was PBS programming?

If you know the title, that would be great!

(Read All About It - an all-time classic)

April 6/11 from Nad:

I'm looking to watch episodes of "We Live Next Door", it was a TV Ontario show from the 80's.
Can you help?

(I have about 15 episodes of this show)

May 31/11 from Christopher:

I was just reading all the shows you posted about from TVO a long time ago. I was trying to remember a show I used to watch on it I believe it was in the early 90's. It was about a group of 5 teenagers that snuck aboard a space ship and took off into a black hole. One of the teens had big spiral ears and could hear far away. Another had a friend that was in another realm that only she could see. If you could help me remember the name of this show I would be very happy :) I believe it was called something with oddyssey in it but I am not sure.

(Sounds like a most interesting show!)

June 5/11 from Susan:

On TVO there used to be a show that was 2 dimensional, a story based on characters solely of plant material-like a collage sort of thing but stop-action...I remember Pampas (made of pampas grass) and something about a bramble or brambly bush...after watching way too many TVO videos on youtube and searching my brains out...I'm stumped! oh, and I think it was British, I think the plant-y characters had voices but it could have been narration, but the voices were British.

(Anyone know?)

June 14/11 from Brandon:

I'm am in the US but I have been looking for information on a show from the 79's and 80's. There was an old man teaching letters, words, speech/pronunciation. I remember it seemed more of a skit on a larger show. He would pronounce each letter like ten times, each letter until the word was complete.

(Not sure....)

July 7/11 from Lauren:

On your feedback of TVOntario shows, there was a question about a show with a blue jay puppet and you were unsure of the answer to the woman's inquiry about the title. I believe it's "Under The Umbrella Tree." It was on in the early 1990's. I think the inquiry was in the summer of 2009 on your site. Sorry I don't remember the specific date!

(Thank you!)

July 23/11 from Michele

I was wondering if you happen to have The Young Pioneers, A Promise of Spring?

(I do not)

July 27/11 from Christopher

Love your page. Do you have any recollection of an animated history of the world show that ran on TVO in the late seventies/early eighties?

(Once Upon a Man...Time or something to that effect, I believe)

August 3/11 from Lea

hello, just checking out your site and came across the questions from people. Not sure if you're still updating things. Feb 9/10 from Carmen asking about a french lady with an english sock puppet, the show is Marie Soleil. Also, I was wondering if you remember a show, I believe it was about math (not math patrol). It was set in a shop, I think a character was named Mr. Bean and there was a tricycle that moved all by itself. It always creeped me out. The other show I remember was Flower Stories. It was a cartoon, very short. British voice who told a story. I can't seem to find it anywhere, starting to doubt myself on it's existence.

(Two Plus You is the math show)

On Jan 23/09 I believe the show she was talking about is ZOOBILEE ZOO. Live actors wearing costumes-parrot,cat,lion,dog. It was a great show! Zoobilee zoo, zoobilee zoo magic and wonder are waiting for you

(Thank you!)

Sept 6/11 from Robert

A couple of years back, I bought a DVD from you which included the one and only episode of TeleTales that you have. just recently, I found a site, Vimeo, that has all 15 episodes of TeleTales, plus 15 episodes of Gather 'Round (after the 15th episode, it was changed to TeleTales). they were added to the site by the show's host, Paul Lally.

(Thanks for the info!)

Sept 10/11 from Rebecca

This was an 80's show I believe, almost certain it was filmed in ont., a chimp at a typewriter, not sure if he was a reporter or an editor... That's all I can remember a chimp at a typewriter.. Anyone have any recollection?

(Not at all - sorry)

Nov 11/11 from Marc

Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I have two searches actually from the late 70's/early 80's from my PBS station in New Jersey/New York. 1) I remember a short about a boy who loved going to a merry go round. Then some day the merry go round was taken away by some demolition men. The next night some of the boys young friends got a horse from the merry go round and left it at the boys home since he loved it so much. The boy then dreamed that the horse was real and that he was riding the horse. Does this sound familiar? 2) The next was a cartoon, again on PBS for New Jersey/New York. It was about a boy who had a inchworm as a pet. The inchworm and the boy become popular. Almost like cult status. At the end of the cartoon the inchworm turns into a caterpillar and it is then that the boy realizes what has happened. Again, I know these are long shots and it has been almost 30 years but these have never left my mind. Please help and thanks.

(Sound like quite interesting shows)

Dec 1/11 from Cody

I remember the one with the girl and the blue jay puppet... it is called Under The Umbrella Tree!

(Great!)

Dec 15/2011 from Michelle

There was this show I used to watch when I was a kid that had this guy that was trying to get to this special place in the forest. He had to cross a river and fallen logs as bridges and I think at one point crawl through a hollow log. When he got to this place his friends (essentially puppet animals) would be there. He had a real life friend come visit once and her mouth got stuck with peanut butter. I cannot remember the name of it and neither can any of my family or friends. Please help.

(Anyone?)
